Another way for students to challenge themselves in room 17 is by completing an Independent Study Project.  Students may choose to research a topic by selecting a book from our Independent Study Bin.  If your child's interest is sparked about a topic not found in our classroom Independent Study Bin, he/she may get a book from our classroom, school, or county library instead!

Once a topic has been selected, your child will complete the Independent Study Packet (located in the back of our classroom) and then he/she will choose how to present the information researched to the class.   In the past, students have put together powerpoint presentations, created posters, or put together classroom brochures.  If your child researched ballet, perhaps he/she could create a google slide show all about the various ballet positions.  The possibilities are endless!

After your child presents his/her information and turns in the Independent Study Packet, he/she will earn a star towards our All-Star Club!
